On Sunday 5th June, the Under 8s came together at the club to put their football skills to the test. 

Each player had worked hard to gather sponsorship for the 10 ‘Obstacles’ they had to beat. From Penalty Shoot-Outs to Target Practice, accuracy and dribbling, to running the gauntlet of water pistols, the boys showed great sportsmanship, enthusiasm and athleticism.

The aim of the event was to raise funds for the team through a series of challenges designed by their coaches and parents. The boys’ skills were tested the whole way around the course, finishing up with “Soak the Coach” and a “Water Gauntlet”.

The top fundraiser of the day was Kobe Scott who managed to raise over £200 for the squad, with the total funds in excess of £1000. We are so very proud of the boys and very grateful to their families and friends who have chipped in to sponsor them for today’s event.

With a time of 7 ½ minutes, Charlie Widdop won the trophy on the day for overall winner. Logan Oates followed quickly behind with a time of 8 minutes and Reegan Bennett took 3rd place with a time of 9 minutes.

Overall, it was hugely successful event to end their fantastic second season.
