Safety Warning - Wakefield Road

Dewsbury Rangers FC is urging everyone visiting our site to remain extremely vigilant following reports of poisoned bait being placed in the area.

We have received reports that individuals have been placing bait believed to contain poison around the site. Sadly, we understand that several dogs and cats have already lost their lives after coming into contact with suspected poisoned bait.

This is an extremely serious concern for everyone who uses our facilities, particularly dog owners who regularly visit the area with their pets.

We are asking all visitors to remain vigilant and to keep dogs under close control at all times. Please do not allow pets to eat anything they find on the ground, and take particular care around areas of grass, pathways, hedgerows and other places where bait could potentially be concealed.

If you see any suspicious food, bait or other items that you believe may contain poison, do not touch or move them. Please report your concerns to the relevant authorities and, where appropriate, alert other visitors nearby.

Anyone who believes their pet may have come into contact with suspected poisoned bait should seek urgent veterinary advice.

The safety of everyone who visits Dewsbury Rangers, including our players, families, visitors and their pets, is extremely important to us. We will continue to monitor the situation and share any further information we receive.

Please stay alert, keep your pets safe and help us make sure everyone visiting our site is aware of this serious warning.
