Mini Rangers Graduation

A new chapter begins for Dewsbury Rangers' youngest players as this year's Mini Rangers graduate into the Foundation Phase to form the club's Under 7s squad for the 2026/27 season.

After beginning their football journey through the club's Mini Rangers programme, the players will now take the next step in the Dewsbury Rangers FC Player Pathway as they prepare for their first season of age-group football.

The transition into the Foundation Phase is an important milestone, providing each player with the opportunity to continue developing their technical skills, confidence and understanding of the game in a fun, safe and supportive environment. While football development remains a key focus, the emphasis will continue to be on enjoyment, learning and creating positive experiences that foster a lifelong love of the game.

The formation of the new Under 7s squad is another proud moment for the club and reflects the success of the Mini Rangers programme in preparing young players for the next stage of their development. It also represents the first step on a player pathway that supports children from their earliest experiences in football through to youth and adult football.

Speaking about the progression, our Foundation Phase lead, Mike Asquith, said:

"Watching our Mini Rangers progress into the Under 7s is one of the most rewarding moments of the season. Every player has shown fantastic enthusiasm, confidence and a willingness to learn, and they should all be incredibly proud of what they have achieved. We would also like to thank the parents and families for their continued support, which plays such an important role in every child's development. We look forward to seeing this group continue to grow both on and off the pitch throughout the season ahead."
