Club Newsletter – December 2010

Fantastic News – Clubhouse Project – As you’ll all be aware from previous newsletters the club have been working on a project to fund and build a clubhouse on Wakefield Road. This work has been ongoing for several years and we’re very pleased to inform you that we now have commitments from several parties that the funding is in place and we were very happy to be informed that official planning permission has now been approved by KMC. The plans have been shown at previous events such as the Presentation night last May but briefly the clubhouse is scheduled to have 6 changing rooms, with showers and toilets, a cafe/meeting room and further officials and first aid rooms. The next stage is for the quotations and contracts to be agreed and hopefully the first sign of building work will be seen early next year with completion planned for the start of next season. We firmly believe that once we have the clubhouse and our already existing senior partnership at St John Fishers with the 3G facility that the players and parents at Dewsbury Rangers will have the best facilities of any junior club in this area. We have to send special thanks to Councillor Paul Kane, without whom this project would still be at the early stages and we all thank him tremendously for the part he has played in this project.

Player Development – Once again we are keen to develop younger players of whatever ability and have recently agreed that 5 year old who are too young to officially play in matches but can attend training can join the club for the first season at a greatly reduced fee. We are keen to develop this but as always we need to find someone willing to help with this development role. If you are interested at all please contact either your age group manager or the club directly on football@dewsburyrangersjfc.co.uk. The club will fund any required FA CRB checks and Level one training and supply equipment for this project.

Girls Teams – A few years ago the club had 4 junior girls teams and we are keen to try to re-introduce these teams if at all possible. If you are interested in coaching or have a daughter who would like to be involved please let us know - we already have some younger girls playing mixed football but would need more girls to come along who are keen to play football on a weekly basis. Annual Player Presentation Evening with Free Entry on Monday the 16th May 2011 at the Frontier

Website – The website has undergone a vast revamp over the summer and we thank Lee Robinson for stepping into this role. Don’t forget to keep logging on to keep up to date with the clubs activities and those of your particular age group. If you have any ideas for items on the site or can provide match reports or extra details for your team please contact us. Why not take a look at www.dewsburyrangersjfc.co.uk .

Respect campaign – Parents responsibilities We all have a responsibility to promote high standards of behaviour in the game. Dewsbury Rangers is supporting The FA’s Respect programme to ensure football can be enjoyed in a safe, positive environment. Remember children’s football is a time for them to develop their technical, physical, tactical and social skills. Winningisn’t everything. Play your part and observe The FA’s Respect Code of Conduct at all times.

 YOU SHOULD:
Remember that children play for FUN
Applaud effort and good play as well as success
Always respect the match officials’ decisions
Remain outside the field of play and within the Designated Spectators’ Area (where    provided)
Let the coach do their job and not confuse the players by telling them what to do
Encourage the players to respect the opposition, referee and match officials
Avoid criticising a player for making a mistake – mistakes are part of learning
Never engage in, or tolerate, offensive, insulting, or abusive language or behaviour. Understand that if you do not follow the Code, any/all of the following actions may be taken by Dewsbury Rangers, County FA or The FA.

YOU MAY:
Be issued with a verbal warning from a club or league official
Be required to meet with the club, league or CFA Welfare Officer
Be required to meet with the club committee
Be obliged to undertake an FA education course
Be obliged to leave the match venue by the club
Be requested by the club not to attend future games

Penalty shoot out results
Thank you to everyone who supported this event the number of goals scored out of 750 that were taken was 442.  There was only one person who guessed correctly and that is S.Calcutt from the under 7's congratulations the £50 is on its way to you.  This year we decided that the age group that sold the most guesses would get £100 towards their age group to spend on the children.  It was close this year with the under 7's selling 394 which was fantastic and the winning age group was the under 10's who sold 399 guesses.  Well done to them and once again thank you for your support in helping raise funds for the clubhouse.
